The Montessori Approach

Children are naturally curious and capable. Our role is to create the right conditions for them to thrive.

Child Led Learning

We follow the interests and natural curiosity of each child, allowing them to develop their individual learning journey at their own pace.

Prepared Enviroment

Our setting is carefully arranged to encourage independence, with child-sized furniture, accessible materials, and designated areas for different types of learning.

Practical Life Skills

From pouring water, dressing skills, to caring for nature, children develop real-world competencies that build concentration, coordination and confidence.

Hands-On Materials

Authentic Montessori materials engage all the senses, making abstract concepts tangible and supporting genuine understanding rather than rote learning.

Observation & Tracking

Our practitioners carefully observe each child, recording their progress and ensuring every child's unique development is celebrated and supported.

EYFS Framework

The Montessori ethos is embedded within the statutory EYFS framework, ensuring children receive a full and balanced early years education.

First Work Cycle

  • Children self-register using their name cards and are encouraged to independently choose activities, supported by adults alongside planned adult-led activities.

  • We play music during tidy-up time to help children recognise routine and transitions.

  • Snack time is enjoyed either in key groups or as a special whole-group snack for birthdays and special occasions.

Second Work Cycle

  • This session focuses more on physical development and movement. Activities include using balls, hoops, and programmes such as Sticky Kids (music and movement) and the ABC programme (Action, Balance, Coordination).
